If you can ignore Catain Price scream-shouting at you "WE'RE BEIN' DOMINATED!!!!" and you are more a fan of #C64 shoot 'em ups and some decent Matt Gray SID (and you you choose to simply ignore the existence of Mark Cale) then take a look at this often-overlooked little gem.

A sleek ship is DOMINATING the space lanes. Tri-pinted lasers and a blacked-out cockpit. Is that an asteroid..? That's no moon...

Little Computer People

Some games, particularly #C64 games, are just solid nostalgia classics & LCP is one of those. I only ever had it on cassette back in the day, which is a shame, as the disk version is the way to go with more "depth" to it. It is still worth a play now. Fascinating.

Pac-Mania

One of gaming's favourite characters has a multitude of enbodiments on the #C64, some are shite and some a greit and this one, despite being a bit clunky - falls into the latter catagory. It's grrrrrrreit! Ben's tunes are a bit, uh, wacky, but the gameplay is solid. Try Me.

Quite a nice, though Speccy-looking (without the colour clash) hi-res loading screen for Pac-Mania on the C64. Pac-Man is doing his jump in the air, but he has no hat on. Sad Times.

Bazooka Bill

Two fellow peeps have mentioned this #C64 "classic" (you know who you are!) 😆 and really I cannot understand what they see in BB. The game is REALLY REALLY BAD! Ha ha ha ha! But, don't take my word for it - fire it up and have a go tourself. Why is BB so damned slow? NOPE!

CJ in the USA

The first CJ game was really nicely done. This one, whilst much of the same smooth-scrolling #C64 platforming action and 2-PLY, just feels off somehow. Mainly due to the awkward as hell level design and insta-death / no visible collision mechanic. Still, it ain't terrible.

Very nice loading pic on the C64 for CJ in the USA. Our elephant hero wearing a blue baseball cap and a red tee and nowt else, holds a lantern in his trunk and is paddling on a wooden raft in a sewer! I see a crocodile and a rat.

Batty

Sometimes, all we have to go on is a nice loading picture. This #C64 clone-a-tron seems quite nicely put toghether, but, I need to wait for @fuzzweed.co.uk to return to Fripville as it is 2-PLY only. However, it seems like a perfectly lovely duos Bat 'n' Ball game. No #Zzap! Pon!

Ant Attack

A classic #Speccy game and like most - it made its way onto the #C64. It plays and looks fine and is a faithful port of the original. But therein lies the issue(s)... For one, the screen, for whatever reason, does not keep the player centered and the "world" scrolling. Oh no.

Potty Pigeon

Dateline: 1984. The #C64 scene is just waking up from the genesis period of '82-3 and Software Houses are springing up. It was the best of times... Tony Crowther & Ben Daglish, likely off their faces, doing the biz. This actually has a great deal of charm and is fair loved.

Frankly a pretty shitty effort for Gremlin Graphics' first game loading screen. It screamsd SPECCY like, well: everything.

Helter Skelter

Well, this is a bit... Interesting. A #C64 arcade platformer where you play a perpetually bouncing ball and have to squash enemies in order, similar to Bombjack. It's just... Well. It's just not very good, is it? I mean, sure - it plays well & looks okay but... ARGH!

Wow. Another #C64 game by those scamps over at Tiertex. I wonder what th- SHIT! It's utter shit! Another #MovieTieIn and not a Tom Cruise in sight, oh no, tilt your head down, there he is. So, I just did Daytona Qually. It is awful, but, is a exercise in gear management!

The Goonies

Still one of the best "kids" movies ever made, how can the #C64 game hold up? Well, it's an arcadey platformer that isn't without its charm. I just enjoyed it. For a 1984/5 game it has bags of nice features and looks and plays pretty well. Better than a lot of the time.

The iconic (is it really?) building from The GOonies, the restaurant / cafe place? Is it? HEY YOU GUUUUUUYS!

A rare day off for me yesterday I didn't even turn my PC on in the study: BLISS! And lo! The final reviewed game to round off CF issue 3 is this little puzzler. You know I loves a #C64 puzzler. Problem is, I couldn't work out what to do on the first screen. It might be okay?

The final reviewed game from CF issue 2 that I need to feature and I have never played this #C64 "flight sim". I am playing it now. So, I couldn't work out how to increase throttle. Anyone got the manual for this..? No idea - it might be a hidden GEM! I will try again...

Strider II

I have never really been a fan of the ol' blue-tights-wearing sword-slashing coin-op hero, but I know a lot of people are. Maybe not on the #C64, but elsewhere. Dare I say... AMSTRAD..? The word "Tiertex" in the loading pic tells you all you need to know, really. Dull.
