Chiropractor Citations: When Old Addresses Follow You.

Patients who search your name may still find the clinic you left. Search your name with each former town, then look at what each result says.

One-Time Citations vs Monthly Local SEO: Pick Right

"Wait" is a real answer. Listings match, profile current? Then buy neither. A citation order fixes wrong or missing listings and ends there. A monthly plan exists for tasks that recur.

Remove a Tracking Number From Business Listings.

An old tracking number can stop forwarding while the listings it sits on keep showing it. A customer dials, hears silence or a stranger, and moves on to the next business on the list.

Verified feels handled, so the claimed listings get opened least; the unclaimed ones get the attention. Meanwhile the phone or hours on the listing with the badge may have changed with nothing re-checking them.

How to Fix a Verified Business Listing With Wrong Info.

Verified does not mean correct, and the gap between those two words is where customers get lost.

A verified or claimed badge answers one question: who controls this listing. Somebody confirmed that, once, at setup. It does not answer whether the phone number, the hours, the address, or the website on the listing are still right. Those change afterward, and nothing re-checks them.

The drift is ordinary. A phone number changes and the listing keeps the old one. Seasonal hours arrive, Saturday gets shorter, and the listing still shows the old schedule. The business moves and the old address sits on the verified listing. The person who set everything up leaves, and can still sign in.

Nobody did anything wrong here. Claiming and confirming the listing was the correct move. But the question the badge settles is not the question the customer brings to it. The customer reads it as a promise that the details are right, dials the number, and gets nothing, on the listing that looks the most official.

There is a second twist: the claimed listings get opened least. Verified feels handled, so the attention goes to the unclaimed ones, while the listings carrying the badge sit unread.

Four checks, no tools required:

1. Write down each listing your business has claimed or verified.
2. Open every one of them and hold the phone, the hours, the address, and the website up against what is true right now.
3. Review who can still get into each account, and take off anyone who has moved on.
4. Pick a day to run the same pass again and put it on the calendar.

Verification was worth doing. It just is not the same job as keeping the details true.

Not your mistake. Directories copy names from existing listings, so "Smith Plumbing Best Plumber Denver 24/7", entered once, spreads to entries you never created.

Search your name in quotes.

Every other version you find is cleanup.

A dead directory still says thanks.

You fill it in, the confirmation loads, and nothing ever appears, because nobody has read the moderation queue since the owner moved on. Reads as patience.

Check your category's newest listings.

Cancel a listings subscription and everything vanishes. So goes the pitch.

The platforms' own docs say otherwise: the sync ends, the data generally stays, and each directory handles it by its own rules. One supplier still runs the scare on a page its own help docs contradict.
