@michael481.bsky.socialIn the future, I hope it will be remembered why Elder Rasband's #ldsconf talk today uses such harsh language.
It's not because it's right to use such words
But he is speaking to members who really think that way about people who leave. He invites them to replace grief and fear with faith and love.
@akkfigueira.bsky.socialMy Song in the Night is one of my favorite of the new hymns. Glad to hear it featured in #ldsconf.
@neilfan12.bsky.social✝️🎰 I only believe #gambling is wrong for those with issues of addiction. For those of us who do it only in moderation it's fine. I'm #LDS & have been going to casinos ever since turning 21.
Especially believe Utah should get the Lottery."Something for nothing" isn't bad.

@thmazing.bsky.socialIf you want to read McKay Coppins article on gambling that Pr Christoffersen cited, here's a free link:
@akkfigueira.bsky.socialEvery #ldsconf I think about the last time (>15 years ago) that I applied to work for the church AV department. I would have been one of the people setting up and running lights, sound, and stuff for these events. They told the guy who referred me I was a "solid candidate," but I didn't get the job.
@akkfigueira.bsky.socialI didn't realized there was a widespread gambling problem in the church today, because it seems such an obviously immoral and bad thing to do. But I guess this talk means I was wrong. #ldsconf
