The working fishing port of Porthleven on the Lizard peninsula Cornwall is the most southerly on mainland Britain; and has provided refuge for centuries along this hazardous stretch of coast. It’s also a great food & drink stopover on the coast path.

#vss365 A big black dog escaped the Demeter when it ran aground near Whitby #harbour. Quayside mariners said they saw no dog but a monstrous man bounding on all fours up to the abbey, & claimed he had red eyes and sharp teeth. Searchers never found the creature but did see a bat among the ruins.
