@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialWent out for second driving lesson, down to Glasbury and back, did really well: considering I was talking in his ear constantly, he didn't lose his temper!

Starters are ready
They're simply to fill a hole
While the oven heats
@deluxday.bsky.social01.10
Research for a calendar shoot next Sunday..
In secret places,
Roof bosses and chancel screens –
There hides the Green Man.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialAn early start at work, feeling quite productive so far. Happy October! (Pinch! Punch!!)

Life is upside down
Before morning's first caffeine
Gently turns it round.

We don't know her precise birthday as she was rescued, but today's the day on her records:
Happy fourth birthday
To our beloved moggy,
Dame Judi Whitesøx.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialI'm out spreading chaos again ... a new generation of petrol-heads ... more fuel for my ulcer ...
30/9
Watch out on the road!
Learner driver coming through!
Crash course? I hope not ...
@deluxday.bsky.socialCongratulations!

We've found mice in the loft, nibbling at my collection of historic newspapers
The digital age
Has put paid to Fleet Street, so
These are all relics.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialThe circle of life keeps us on our toes ...
29/9
Nieces and nephews
Are all grown up; and again
I'm a Great Uncle
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialSomedays I wish we lived in a world where portals could be free to go through the day unharried and stress-free ...
28/9
Is Johnny outside?
You just don't know what's coming ...
I'm totally wired!
@deluxday.bsky.social28.09
A stopped clock at College today reminds of a famous quote from Withnail & I, as sampled by Orbital on 'Planet of the Shapes' from their 1993 Brown Album;
"Even a stopped clock,
Gives the right time, twice a day" –
Marwood on Withnail.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialI think the last time I went to the beach, back in April in Pwllheli, the weather was similar - in stark contrast to yesterday
27/9
Wind-whipped flat salt-sands
Horse-strings crash at the soaked shore
Ghosts speed past unchecked

We enjoyed browsing Beck's collection of 'New Age' books last night, including this classic...
Teardrop Explodes to
Modern Antiquarian;
Cope's Magnum Opus.
@deluxday.bsky.social26.09
I've always wanted to visit there too! #jealous
Hanging out with Beck tonight, who's from farming-stock..
Friend of the Farmer;
Illuminate the fields —
Light of Harvest Moon.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialJust realised I managed to reply in the wrong place a couple of days ago. Never mind. Where am I?

Do you know this shed?
"I've just had eighteen ... whiskies"
Is some kind of clue
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialSpent the day looking at the future
25/9
Friday night again
But ended up on the road
Being "dad's taxi"
@deluxday.bsky.social25.09
My turn to stir at 04:15 and find myself unable to return to slumber. But, every cloud..
I rise with the larks,
And in the crisp, morning air
Behold the sunrise.
@deluxday.bsky.socialHa! Uno, or one of its variants, like Uno Flip?
Tonight's haiku is dedicated to Becky - who's photo I've borrowed, and her late brother Hayden, who loved a sunset..
Brushstrokes in the sky,
A palette, vermilion.
For our friend, Hayden
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialAir temperature's dropping; I wonder how this autumn will treat us
24/9
Was about to write
But was hijacked by Uno
And the moment passed
@deluxday.bsky.social23.09
I'll go with the Equinox too! Today feels truly like an Indian Summer day..
Autumn Equinox;
Hemispheres equally lit,
Before nights draw in.
@paddy-roberts.bsky.socialAn early one to catch the change of seasons as the year slips into the autumn of its days . . .
23/9
It's the equinox
Today all things are equal
But will go south later

I have a new penpal, although she doesn't know it yet....
I'll trust Royal Mail,
To deliver this postcard
To my new penpal.
