"Grand Teton National Park is a U.S. national park located in the northwestern part of the state of Wyoming. The park encompasses the major peaks of the 64-kilometer-long Teton Range, as well as the greater part of the northern section of the valley known as Jackson Hole. Covering an area of ​​1,254 km², the park is renowned for its mountainous landscapes dominated by Grand Teton, which rises to an elevation of 4,197 meters. Its rocks—dating back more than two billion years—are among the oldest on the planet, yet the current topography is of recent origin, having formed only about ten million years ago. The name itself originated with French Canadians who were exploring the area on behalf of the North West Company." Have you ever been to #Grandtetonnationalpark?

The mountains rise right from #JacksonHole - there are no foothills. The #Tetons have been shaped by glaciation despite being some of the youngest mountains.

My favorite spot in #wyoming and my favorite national park. #nationalparkgeek.

Winters in #grandtetonnationalpark are not always snowy, all day every day. It was threatening, but hadn't started, yet. This is from the road to the #stockbridge along the #snakeriver. The #tetons and #jacksonhole never cease to amaze.
