The Walker Brothers' swan song, 78's "Nite Flights" featured the first knockings of #ScottWalker 's Avant-garde ambitions but his next record, '84's excellent "Climate Of Hunter" further pointed to the fact that his early seventies MOR days were behind him. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

When #AztecCamera 's '84 follow up to HLHR was released, the Knopfler produced LP was deemed a tad "too polished". The beautifully lush title track alone proved the boy wonder was keen to move on, and fair play to him. Leave the jangle to that nascent Manc lot. #FridayVinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

#Fridayvinyl time and apropos of nowt, I'm having a 1984 special, beginning with #EverythingButTheGirl From the easy indie jazz of this, their '84 debut, and throughout their constant reinvention, Ben and Tracey have ploughed their own path and it's been a brilliant journey. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Tough crowd tonight.. Anyways, time once again for #TheIncredibleJimmySmith to wrap things up, this week with his '73 release "Portuguese Soul". 'til next time, stay safe, stay loose and stay lovely. Peace.x #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #Jazz

Another anniversary record. #Spiritualized had a tough task following up LAGWAFIS and it took Jason four years to do so. Harshly judged against its predecessor, LICD is a fine LP and features one of my favourites in "Anything More". It turns 25 next week. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

If 75's "Main Course" was the #BeeGees dipping their toe into the waters of Disco, then the following year's "Children Of The World" saw them wading in up to their midriffs. We all know what followed....This turns 50 on Sunday, also belated happy 80th to Barry. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Keepin' on with the R&B/soul vibes with #LynCollins and the second of, criminally, only two solo LP's she ever released. '75's "Check Me Out If You Don't Know Me by Now". Lyn passed away at just 56 in 2005. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

#Fridayvinyl time. An early start to allow for Pools on the radio. We begin with a true outlier. I've had #JesseRay 's finest four minutes "Inside Out" as an earworm for the past week or so and it's an itch that needs to be scratched. Here it is kicking off his 1987 debut. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky
