Then they delivered to generations following mine the machismo cynicism with its connotation that it was better to have that than feeling life. They seeded you with the idea that those who experienced life ... as opposed to those who accepted their prepackaged attitudes of cynicism and mean-spiritedness ... well, we were wusses, saps, effeminate, feminate, and all that.

Why’s Everybody Hatin’ on Kumbaya?

“Well, not that it’ll make a difference on you, but yeah, I’m that old and have had many high moments of unity in among the angels of humans coming forth to reunite — what you refer to as kumbaya. And by the way, I like the song, I like the Lord, what’s everybody pissed at? As for the other, we overcame. I’ve really dug being me because I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the things that made the world better; and I can’t imagine a better high or feeling of fulfillment.

“But I’m not here to dispute with you. I’m an old fart who got to live in rich times and participate in them. You’re a young, well, younger-than-me person, who was apparently born at around the time all the things my kind were working for were deemed a threat to the status quo. And so the powers-that-be created the misinformation, scapegoating, and slander of my generation. You see, my purposes here are not to list and dwell on the statistics proving the premise that the current trends we are following are apocalyptic. Quite a few others are doing that right now. I, being a psychologist, am more concerned with why what they are saying is being avoided, and denied. Or why their warnings and projections are not being heeded. Why we are not doing anything like what would be a rational response to what they tell us is coming, is in fact at this moment going on, though we look away. I am also taken up by why we humans, of all species, would do this to ourselves.

So, although in upcoming chapters I will bring out some of the scientific facts and findings pertaining to the collapse of the environment and the dying off of life, this book is primarily about how we deal with the obvious. We already know much of this, but we are trying to not know it and to block it out with inanities and trivialities. We need simply to look to our daily headlines. Need I remind of the dangers from catastrophes like Fukushima and the Gulf Oil Spill?

We have radiation mixing into the world ecosystem as I write. Fukushima alone is spreading radiation that is off the charts into food, air, and oceans. We also know that the plutonium that is a significant part of our nuclear waste needs to be guarded for twenty-five-thousand years…

2 weeks since starting this illustration of the 2nd character from my original Storyboard's complete.

Belated: African American Day Parade 2026.

Veteran, Combat Medic, Husband, & Father of 2. Works as a corrections officer (& best friend, & associate in discretion to Jonah's private contracts, participation's optional).
Jonah considers Malique to be an Equal on an Intellectual & Moral equilibrium, with sufficient combat skills.
They are both willing to do whatever morally necessary to save lives;
However the Only Contrasts btwn the 2 are their:
- Skillsets & capabilities: Jonah's more physically agile & is able to parkour over a variety of obstructions. Malique's a soldier, Jonah's a warfare assassin.
- Discernment & decisions: Malique would often persist in saving every1 including the ppl who were & are still going to kill him (regardless of Jonah's observational diagnostics & warnings of an individual). Jonah evaluates the Moral nature of an individual based on Observational Analysis, empirical accumulation of evidence in behavior / tone / incentives / reasons, cause-effect anticipations & probabilities, his conclusive decisions would be to eliminate imminent threats to innocent lives when it's clear the threat's reasons are incentivized by Corruption & vanity, but Jonah would immediately make a split-second decision to spare the individual if there was an indicative redeeming factor. Jonah warns Malique if an individual who'd still attempt to kill him even after saving them, but acknowledges Malique's beliefs & respects his decisions to try, often times it ends with Jonah being correct.
- Personalities: Malique's often Enthusiastic but serious. Jonah's Skeptical but whimsical wherever he's being a smartass / jackass to prove a point or creating elaborate antics to get Malique to participate in an intellectual-based conversation in their occasional collaborations in a case.
- Perspectives: Malique is religious (non-corrupted Christian), Jonah's an Atheist.
