She is one of the few who are guardians of very old knowledge and practices. Along with being a moral compass for many years.

Flourish is ...complicated? There IS a primary antagonist but for the majority it seems far more domestic of a sort. But in practice? Twoooo? But there are a handful of secondary such as Ilan's ex, Zarek's dad is a source of conflict for him
