It's an...interesting start, I'll admit. I'd like to know who's choice it was to make Jun a supermodel and take her family out of the equation, but at the sametime I get why, if they kept them in it'd be TOO close to Devilman and people could guess the twist too soon. #DevilManLady

This is enough to make Jun go full power and both her and the werewolf go Kaiju...well, so much for secrets. #DevilManLady

Okay so funny thing...I didn't know this had a dub as I don't officially have the Blu-ray yet so I switched over the PlutoTV to watch the English version and had to mull through 160 seconds of commericials!

The OG Devilman Lady manga has Jun as a teacher and an athlete living with her brother while her dad is in the US. The anime has her as a supermodel living in an apartment.

Now, this is where I'd say it wouldn't make the show an interesting sit, right? I mean, they even kept the name Jun for the rule 63 Jun. Well...director Toshiki Hirano (Vampire Princess Miyu) and writer Chikaki J. Konaka (Lain, Tamers) changed the manga...a bit. #DevilManLady

The blond that's been stalking Jun, Lan Asuka, convinces her to go for a ride and wants to talk to her about evolution vs. stagnation and yeah if you saw Devilman, you know who's in what role and why Jun's being talked to. #DevilManLady

Ok, I crack about Nagai being the pervy uncle and all that...but his horror stuff is VERY atmospheric and when it looks like a demon is stalking her, the dark music builds and builds like it's own version of the Jaws theme song. #DevilManLady

The irony of me watching this as I'm also rewatching #Castlevania and how this opens with a woman being burned at the stake!

BTW, if you saw the OG Devil Man, there's a reason Jun's name sounds familiar. Go Nagai has ruled 63 his own property...if you're wondering why, look at the name of the creator and ask again. #DevilManLady
