La Aurora International Airport Guatemala City, Guatemala Postcard
.
#Guatemala #Travel #Airports #AirportArchitecture #Airtravel #avgeek #Aviation #dc3

A vintage color postcard depicting La Aurora National Airport in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The postcard has a pale pink border, with the title “La Aurora National Airport, Guatemala City, C. A.” printed across the top and “Aeropuerto Nacional de la Aurora, Guatemala City, C. A.” along the bottom.

The photograph shows the airport terminal from across a broad grassy area. The terminal is a distinctive Spanish Colonial Revival–style building with a long, low central structure and a prominent multi-story control tower at the right. The tower has a dark, hipped roof topped by a small decorative finial, arched windows, balconies, and several rectangular windows. The terminal façade features a series of large rounded arches supported by columns, with people gathered beneath and in front of the building. Flags are flying from poles on either side of the terminal.

A twin-engine propeller airliner is parked in front of the terminal at left, facing toward the right. The aircraft is positioned on the apron with a set of passenger stairs alongside it. Several people are visible around the aircraft and terminal, including passengers and airport personnel. Baggage carts and other small ground-service equipment are positioned near the aircraft.

The foreground consists of a large, vividly green grass field, while a line of mature trees forms the background behind the terminal. The postcard uses saturated blues, greens, and warm earth tones, giving the scene a distinctly mid-century travel-postcard appearance.
