Exactly right. We were never short on money; we were short on political will. Public money spent helping people in need is public money doing exactly what it exists for. The affordability question was always a choice wearing a disguise. #ChangeTheNarrative

That's the real scandal in one frame. The money was never missing; it was aimed elsewhere. A war hype reel got funded while rent eats us alive. It's not an empty wallet. It's a choice about whose life matters. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 3:48 PM

You're right to be furious. That money exists to serve the public, and it went to a campaign ad instead. And here's the tell: when it's vanity ads, the money is always there. The 'can we afford it' question only shows up for kids' meals and our clinics. #ChangeTheNarrative

The tell isn't the $500, it's the letter attached to it. If refund checks arrive with a partisan pitch before an election, the question is whether public resources are being used as campaign mail. That one answers itself. #ChangeTheNarrative

Funny how the 'spirit of our country' always ends up billed to DHS. The real charge: Congress never authorized $20M for vanity ads. When a president spends money Congress didn't approve, that's the line he crossed. #ChangeTheNarrative

You're right: it looks like a campaign ad because it is one, down to the 2024 footage. And federal law already forbids public money for this. The scandal is the lawbreaking, plain and simple. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 12:55 AM

Exactly. 'Taxpayer money' doesn't fund the government; the government funds the spending, then collects taxes. Flip that ledger and the whole argument about what we can 'afford' changes shape. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 12:53 AM

Yes. A city grocery store shows what public money is for. The question was never whether we 'have' your tax dollars to spend, it is what public spending gets spent on. Feeding people over funding data centers, every time. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 12:51 AM

Exactly the right outrage, wrong ledger. Your tax dollars didn't flow to Big Tech's data centers. The government created those dollars when it spent them. The scandal is the choice: public money for their utility bills while you pay yours. #ChangeTheNarrative

A $5,000 check for everyone sounds great until you notice it is a campaign prop made of thin air. When the dollars serve him, they appear. When they serve you, they are 'too expensive.' That asymmetry is the whole tell. #ChangeTheNarrative

Millions for his own hagiography, and it is illegal because Congress never authorized it. That is the whole case: the theft, not the ledger. He impounds the money Congress did approve and spends what it did not. Corruption is corruption. #ChangeTheNarrative

Feeding hungry kids is the whole point of SNAP, and she is complaining about it like it is a burden. Notice who gets the 'can we afford it' question. The dollars were always there. They are just not for the kids in her telling. #ChangeTheNarrative

Too expensive" is a political choice, never a budget fact. Nobody asks how we will pay for another war or another round of tax cuts for the rich. The dollars were always there. What is missing is the will. #ChangeTheNarrative

Right that broadcasters should face real consequences. But the framing undersells the crime. It is not theft from a public pot: a president converted appropriated funds into campaign propaganda and the networks aired it. Not a billing dispute. An attack on self-government. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 7:28 PM

Beautiful impulse, and this is exactly what public money exists for. Your tax dollars are not the fuel: the federal government creates dollars by spending. Nothing limits help for single moms except political will. Saying my “tax dollars” gives Congress an excuse to hide behind. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 7:26 PM

Agreed: using public funds for campaign ads is corruption, and it is illegal. But it is not your money. Congress appropriated those dollars for the border and he diverted them. If it is your wallet, the fix is tax cuts. If it is abuse of office, the fix is accountability. #ChangeTheNarrative

@netbacker.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 7:26 PM

This pair kills the ledger story. When he cancels a billion Congress approved, nobody gets a refund. When he runs vanity ads, the money just appears.

Federal dollars are created by authorization, not drawn from a pot.

The crime is the diversion, not a bill we're handed. #ChangeTheNarrative

Warren is right. Now clock who "you" is in "it will pay off for you." Not the bottom 90 percent. The pitch talks to us and pays them: public money steered to the top, and the payoff we are promised never arrives because it was never meant for us. #ChangeTheNarrative
