Another example of the BBC being brilliant. This series on Pevsner is good but if you're from the North East, the episode on County Durham, presented by the incomparable Lucinda Lambton, is fab, and includes my hometown, Sunderland.

The monumental Scottish Provident Institution Building on St Vincent Place in central Glasgow. Constructed in 1904 in a French Renaissance style that would be just as much at home in Paris as it is in Scotland's largest city, it was designed by J. M. Dick Peddie.
