On the same day as we saw the Lindisfarne helleborine, the ssp of the Dune, aka the Tyne helleborine, Epipactis dunensis subsp. tynensis.
For #AnOrchidADay:
Back the next year, and on our final day of two weeks in the area, the Lindisfarne helleborine, Epipactis sancta, did flower.
Quest completed.
For #AnOrchidADay:
in 2013, I bought Harraps plant and site guide, and decided I wanted to see the Lindisfarne Helleborine. A two week holiday was planned, but the spikes didn't flower until after we left.
Made do though with the Dark Reds at Bishop Middleham's.
For #AnOrchidADay:
Still at Mt. Caburn:
Hundreds of spikes, most singles, but some in pairs, and even a triple.
I think after several years of Kent #Orchids for For #AnOrchidADay, for a few weeks I will switch to other UK orchids, maybe and then some from Rhodes, Cyprus and maybe that France.
So tomorrow, all change. All change.
