@kayontheprairie.bsky.socialView from Gorham Mountain summit at Acadia. I had asked a worker at the gift shop what her favorite trail was and she didn’t steer me wrong. This was probably my favorite hike of the trip. Fun rock scrambles and a beautiful payoff at the top. ⛰️

@katherine-adler.bsky.socialIt was breezy in #Acadia this weekend. If you look closely at this picture of Jordan Pond, you can see white lines perpendicular to the wave crests. These are signs of Langmuir cells, long roller vortices that are generated by wind-wave interactions. Relevant paper: www.cambridge.org/core/journal...
