Lashunta Word of the Week Kemyathi (/ke.mja:thi./; spiritual): stormtide; the period of Western Asana’s dry monsoon when storms and flash floods are likely to occur. Due to proximity to Castrovel’s northern hemisphere autumnal equinox, this is the season closest to Fall. In northwest Asana, this weather is mainly generated by the great ~kendahae~ - typhoon/hurricane - that strike the Stormshield Shore and whose remnants blow over the mountains. Compare to ~Azathi~ - Floodtide, the season of the wet monsoon, when the Yaro River, swamps, and marshes reach their high points. Related Terms: Kemi (spiritual): storm Kendavi (spirtual): moldstorm (typically occurs in Blightide, prior to Stormtide) Kenyadae (spiritual): typhoon; hurricane Kenzae (spiritual): wordstorm; argument

If your current project had an official climate or weather setting, what would it be? Endless rain, harsh snow, scorching dust storms, or constant overcast fog?

Authors and Gamemasters, today's world building question!

In your world, what is the total population (of the planet / the country / the city, etc.)?

A WIP from yesterday and today called the Grave Sentinel; she's an armoured apparition who protects her beloved's death site. I've not drawn armour before, nor grave headstones or action poses... There's been a lot of learning!

Every faith should ask something of its followers.

Obedience? Sacrifice? Charity? A vow never to spill blood?

Choose one core demand. Then ask what happens when someone refuses.

Now your religion has rules, conflict, and stories waiting to happen.

I can hardly write this log, for my paper is so damp it almost tears from my pen’s touch. We crouch within our tents, which we hung but bothersomely, and huddle in hope our warmth will outdrive the water’s chill. No fire can last in this weather. It rains as if Father-Sky weeps after the world’s death. Rain I ken. I have lived with it my whole lifetime. In Son at Floodtide, almost the daytide long. Once or twice a day at Blighttide, and kinderly a fierce afternoon storm and drizzle anight. Twice or thrice a day at Stormtide, broken by thundering windy storms that stretch a day or two ere done, and then blessed Heaventide, when it may shower but every other day, the loft dries with freshening coolness from the North Wind, and Burning-Mother may bestow her goodwill with a short sight of Her blue palace. Yet this rain beats so yieldlessly as any stormtide spell, and, quoth our Noruma lead, will not end. Twice ere noontide showerstorms had smitten, as yesterday had done. Then athwart our path we saw a misty wall. We understood what it foremeant when one of our Noruma friends waved at it: ~Azathi~ - “Floodtide,” he named. We full-witted what he meant when we reached the wall. We rode into the eyesome mist, and the rain started. I asked Haes, our hunter, when it ends. He laughed. ~O elma-zhoa,~ - “In two months,” he answered. It belikens that the Stormshields are not misnamed. What rain we see in Son, or indeed anywhere along the Yaro Strath, stands a mere tithe of what here the shoreward side undergoes. Even moreso further northward, the Retaea and Shemez waits a whole yeartide for a raindrop. How we would outlive two months of this weather, however, I have no inkling. Wantsome Lanaryel wails. Remaue carried her along this whole dayfare under a gumcloak, which stuffiness was surely unmerry while we forbore the shower’s pummel. Now we thankfully stay out of the skyflood even if the loft within the tent is almost so thick. I believe none have rued this questfare...
