#ThursdayThrowback & #InsectThursday on my 1st visit to #GawthorpeHall on 30th July, stunning building, really interesting to see the outline of original gardens in the heatwave, plus my favourite peacock #butterflies enjoying the current garden! @thephotohour.bsky.social @nationaltrust.org.uk

Fantastic clocks, stunning building, just look at the fancy plaster ceiling in the long gallery, and peacock butterflies too

Summer of ’67
A little moment from 1967, preserved long after the afternoon itself disappeared.

A warm, sepia-toned vintage photograph shows a young girl standing outdoors on a sunny residential sidewalk. She occupies the center foreground, facing the camera with a small, relaxed smile and one hand resting at her hip. Her long, straight hair falls well below her shoulders and is being swept dramatically toward the right by the breeze. She wears a sleeveless, patterned summer dress with a fitted silhouette and a wide ruffled hem ending above the knees. To her right, a dense flower bed filled with daisy-like blooms runs alongside a tall wooden fence and the side of a house. The cracked concrete sidewalk stretches behind her into the distance, where several children and adults can be seen beneath leafy trees. Part of another girl in a light-colored dress appears along the left edge of the photograph. Sunlight filtering through the trees creates bright patches and soft shadows across the sidewalk. Scratches, fading, dust marks, and age-related discoloration remain visible across the print, reinforcing the unmistakable character of a family snapshot from another era.

Remember when a tournament organiser thought topless dealers in a ladies event were a good idea? #ThursdayThrowback

🏘️ Vernon, BC in 1912.

A lot has changed, but those Okanagan hills are unmistakable. 🌲

Some chocolate birthday cake was eaten, but more was worn.

Four 2-year olds (3 blond and one brunet) sit around a pint-sized table enjoying chocolate cake.

45002 leads 45133 into Leicester station on a London bound express in 1976. 45002 was ex-works and on a shakedown run after major overhaul at Derby - I understand it was a regular practice at the time on the Derby to Leicester stretch. She was detached at Leicester and 45133 continued to St Pancras - You can see the driver of '133 leaning out of the window, keeping an eye on things.
