Warhammer 40k 3rd edition battle report!
Part 3/3

1:
As the battle continued, the Blood Angels managed to cause little damage to the Necrons, whose high defense, armour save and resurrection kept them going, while the Marines were slowly eroded, until they finally broke in spirit.

Lessons to be learnt: Stop rolling I's with the meltaguns and bring more power fists!

2:
Even the Sanguinary High Priest had enough!

Caption Text:

The Blood Angels advance while the Necrons hold a defensive position to shoot down the space marines - sure enough, the Emperor's finest were punished by the unrelenting gauss shots.
Even the Terminators were reduced to just their sergeant by the time the Necrons were in assault range.

1:
Finally the close combat begins on all fronts.
The Blood Angels gain +1 initiative (doesn't really matter against the Necrons!) and strength (a bit more helpful) on the turn they charge.
However, their charge proves to be underwhelming, as the overall lack of power weapons allow for the Necrons to casually roll their 3+ armour saves.

2:
In a more disastrous turn of fate, the Furioso Dreadnought is charged by the Destroyers led by a Destroyer Lord, whose War Scythe take down the metallic hulk in a swift blow la glancing hit that was then followed by a roll of 6!

Caption Text:

The Sanguinary High Priest leads the Death Company (3 models gave in the Black Rage at the start of the game in a charge against the Necron Lord.
They manage to cause 2 wounds against the enemy leader.

Caption text:

The Terminator sergeant and the remaining Assault Marines manage to rout one squad of Necron Warriors and surround the Immortals.

The 9th Company of the Blood Angels were sent on the mission to reclaim the Imperial outpost of Arden-IV that had fallen to a sudden Eldar assault.
Upon arrival, they had found the Eldar had abandoned their garrison.

But the Blood Angels faced another xenos threat, as a legion of Necrons marched toward their position.

Wednesday night was X-Wing night.

Bobba wears a TIE and Ys had to content with a blob of Imperials that moved around like a wall of grey. And that TIE bomber… flying a bit drunk! Lost 12 to 22.

The weather wasn’t cooperating for getting the varnish on these guys but finished otherwise - more Germans for the MARKET GARDEN Chain of Command event at the MOAB gaming convention next weekend. Almost finished with the foot troops; mostly vehicles to go now. #spreadthelard #tabletopwargaming

Wednesday night was X-Wing night.

Pitched Bobba Wears a TIE and the Ys against some First Order. That was a mistake. First order is just some out of whack voodoo stuff. 39 to 12.

A few touch ups and a spray of varnish are needed but since I am travelling tomorrow I’m going to call these done! More SS for an upcoming MARKET GARDEN-themed #chainofcommand event. #ww2 #spreadthelard #tabletopwargaming

Some more art for Quasar's rulebook. This is Syr Kona the fierce, the youngest member of the famed Knights of Arcturas they're maybe a bit more silly than fierce sometimes.

Second game of 'Surviving 'Nam' this afternoon, this time with four seasoned wargamers using three fire teams (blue, green and orange) plus a command team (white). Entry was the west side and the exit point was going to be the opposite east side of the board.

Wednesday night was X-Wing night.

Was a draw, or marginal win, right up until Fett ran into a mine in the very last round that meant he did not survive three dice from this thing…

Had my 1st game of Surviving 'Nam. Apart from the 2nd Lieutenant being wounded almost straight away, we were doing really well making all the objectives, then all hell broke loose... A great set of rules for club games.
