A Eurasian nuthatch (Sitta europaea) stands on a cushion of bright green moss, seen in profile and facing left with its head raised. The upperparts are a soft blue-grey, with a black eye stripe running through a dark brown eye. The cheeks and throat are pale and the underparts are warm buff-orange. The long, pointed bill is slate grey. The bird stands upright on thin legs, with its tail angled downward to the right. I messed my settings up here as it was in the shadows and then came in to bright light but still managed to get this from a well overexposed image. Sony A1 ii + 200-600mm + 1.4x tele.
