“Depression’s lesson to me: when the day is good - live for today. When the day is bad - live for tomorrow.” - Michael Landsberg
Some days are easier than others. On the hard ones, remember that tomorrow is another opportunity for things to feel different. Keep going.
Rumination is getting stuck in a repetitive loop about the past - replaying it, analyzing it, and searching for a solution without reaching one.
The takeaway? If you're not getting anywhere, you don't have to keep going around the loop.
If you were the main character in a book, you wouldn’t judge the entire story by its darkest chapter.
A bad day is a moment in your story - not the narrator of your entire life.
There’s more to your story.
When do you know it’s time to ask for help?
What signs tell you that you’re struggling and could use some support?
New McGill research found differences in brain cells linked to mood, stress and immune function in people with depression. We didn’t need proof. But there’s something powerful about seeing that depression is real - even under a microscope. Read more: https://ow.ly/q5q450ZMlXS #SickNotWeak

“You’ve got this.”
Clichés grab attention, but they aren’t always helpful when someone is struggling.
Instead, ask: “What do you need?” If they don’t know, offer something simple - water, or just a place to sit.
Sometimes, just being there matters.
It’s one thing to recognize what’s been ignored. It’s another to decide to do something about it.
That time is almost here. 🐘
We can't wait.

Having someone you trust enough to say “I’m not okay” to matters.
No pretending. No hiding. Just knowing you can be honest and still be met with care.
Sometimes, a reason to keep going comes in the smallest and most unexpected forms. 🐈
For this #SickNotWeak storyteller, that reason had four paws, an attitude and a very loud purr.

Back-to-school anxiety is on the rise.
After years of worsening mental health, support workers say they're seeing more anxiety around returning to school.
“I don't want to go” might really mean “I'm struggling.”
Check in. Listen. Don't dismiss it.
Living with a mental illness takes strength - even when you don’t feel strong.
Give yourself credit for the hard days you’ve made it through, the help you’ve asked for, and the ways you keep showing up.
You’re stronger than you realize.
“Suicide” is a difficult word for many of us to say.
But talking about suicide does not make someone suicidal. It can help someone feel heard, less alone and supported.

That voice is a voice. Not the truth. 😂
Depression can leave you feeling lost in your own life.
It can change how you see the future, disconnect you from what once mattered and make it difficult to know where to begin.
When the map, compass and flashlight are gone, finding your way is hard.
Reminder: you’re allowed to rest.
You don’t have to earn a break by being productive. Put the to-do list down. Breathe. Recharge.
Your worth isn’t measured by what you get done.
You’re allowed to say no.
No explanation. No guilt. No apology.
Sometimes protecting your peace means setting a boundary.
That’s not selfish. That’s taking care of yourself.
Your story doesn’t have to be extraordinary, polished, or finished to matter.
Maybe it’s messy. Maybe it’s ordinary. Maybe you’re still figuring it out.
It’s still your story. Someone may need to hear it.
