"The Louis S. St. Laurent Building—formerly Quebec City’s main post office—is located at 3 Passage du Chien-d’Or (at the corner of Rue de Buade and Rue du Fort) in the Upper Town of Old Quebec.
Built between 1872 and 1873 by architect Pierre Gauvreau, it was expanded and remodelled between 1913 and 1919 (notably with the addition of an imposing dome on the east side).
This L-shaped building, three-and-a-half stories tall and constructed of cut limestone, combines Second Empire and Beaux-Arts styles.
It is named after Louis S. St. Laurent, Prime Minister of Canada from 1949 to 1958.
Designated a National Historic Site, the building is an integral part of the historic urban landscape of Old Quebec. The ground floor still houses the Upper Town branch of Canada Post, while the upper floors accommodate government offices.
The famous 17th-century bas-relief depicting the "Golden Dog" (*Chien d’or*) has been preserved and incorporated into the building's masonry.

"In Quebec, autumn—specifically the season of those famous, brilliantly colored leaves—runs from mid-September to late October. The peak of the foliage colors occurs between late September and the first week of October, depending on the region. It is a time of autumnal beauty, featuring warm, fiery colors."

"Ageratum blooms from spring through autumn, producing very fluffy, paniculate flower clusters. Its tiny, pom-pom-like blooms offer long-lasting, cheerful color—shades of violet, purple, blue, pink, and white.
Flowering ageratum is an excellent source of nectar for butterflies, hoverflies, and bees, especially since the blooms can persist until late autumn. Its leaves are rarely eaten by insects or mammals, as they have an unpleasant taste and are even slightly toxic—for instance, by disrupting insect molting cycles.
Indigenous peoples used the leaf sap to treat cuts and minor wounds; indeed, modern research has confirmed the plant's antibacterial properties. However, it was even more commonly used as a repellent against mosquitoes and biting midges—simply by rubbing the leaves onto the skin."

The Canadian flag flying over the Citadelle of Quebec. Photo taken from one of the walking paths at the top of one of the moats. It curves gently to the left. People lay in the short grass on the left, enjoying the sun. A well-maintained, elevated walking path made of wood with mettle sides and greed hand rails. A leafy tree drapes over the top of the path, and the path turns into some stairs leading up to the left. The view of a tall church building rising through some trees from one of the walking paths near the Citadelle of Quebec.

"Miscanthus is a genus of perennial herbaceous plants in the grass family, native to Africa and South Asia. Certain Miscanthus species—known as "elephant grass" or "Chinese silver grass"—are attracting growing interest from the agricultural, industrial, and energy sectors due to their productivity, energy value (biomass energy), and lignocellulose content, which enables their use in bio-based materials."
