OCTPOWRIMO 2026-Number 5-Persistence: Over and over and over, it turns Cogs whirring as the machine learns Synaptic accordance, repeated respondence Correlating numbers accelerate despondence It tells us to stop, hoist up our flags Reams of white in brown paper bags Lined and learned, notated in spades Non-consensually fed under shades Centimetres clamped at a centipede's pace Ridges round the rinds of the race To make something 'new' from that which is Blatantly stolen, forcing emotion to fizz The writing is hand, the words are thought Mentally formed from framings sought The parts are built, the codes ingrained Fondled keys to leave hearts stained Breaths of the passersby passed away Condensed into smoke in a monstrous display When lines run dry and the jacket too long What is attached will have to be strong 'The Battle of Blood and Binary' beckons Words will be uttered, delivered in sections Cloud backups versus tangible hard copies Someone will pull the plug on the bodies.
