Timberline bar tonight. Rustic wood, amber lights, and company that made the miles fade. Twelve days solo — this night was worth the wait. Oregon keeps surprising me. 🍻🥃 #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #TimberlineLodge #Oregon #BarLife #TrailMagic #ThruHike #SoloHike #MountainLodge #GoodCompany

Warm, dimly lit nighttime photo inside the rustic bar at Timberline Lodge. Phoebe sits sideways in a heavy wooden bar chair near the foreground, facing the camera with one leg crossed over the other. She is wearing a fitted blue Timberline Lodge T-shirt, black hiking shorts, and dark slip-on camp shoes. Her shoulder-length dark hair is down and dry, and one arm rests casually on the chair. Beside and slightly behind her, a man in a dark hooded shirt and brown shorts sits at the polished wooden bar with a pint of amber beer in front of him, turning partly toward the camera. Other patrons sit farther down the bar with their faces intentionally blurred for privacy. Rows of liquor bottles and hanging stemware fill the shelves behind the bar, while carved animal heads and rustic woodwork decorate the upper wall. A small television glows in the background. Reflections from the bar lights shimmer across the glossy wood, giving the scene the cozy, crowded atmosphere of an evening inside the historic mountain lodge.

An iron fisted rock on the #PacificCrestTrail near Blue Lakes Road in #California holds a tight grip on a tree growing through its palm, For #RockinTuesday.

Found the "Here's Johnny" axe at Timberline Lodge. Couldn't resist. All work and no play makes Phoebe a dull girl, but tonight? Real bed, real meal, cocktail, and The Shining vibes. Day 12 treating me right. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #TimberlineLodge #TheShining #HereJohnny #Oregon #Day12 #ThruHike

Phoebe stands smiling in the interior of Timberline Lodge, holding the lodge's "Here's Johnny" axe associated with The Shining diagonally across her body with both hands. She wears a fitted blue Timberline Lodge T-shirt, black hiking shorts, and black sandals, with her dark shoulder-length hair down. The large wood-handled axe has a distinctive broad metal head and is angled upward beside her right shoulder. She poses in front of a closed wooden door near the lodge's front desk, surrounded by Timberline's warm wood paneling and rustic stonework. A glass display case containing artwork and small items runs along the counter to her left, and part of a lodge employee is visible at the far left edge. A small sign behind Jane reads "ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE," while another accessibility notice hangs above her shoulder. The scene has the warm, historic lodge atmosphere associated with Timberline Lodge, the Oregon location used for exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.

Checked into Timberline Lodge for one night. $177 for a basic room, but the fact that this is the hotel from The Shining sealed the deal. A real bed, real meal, hot shower, cocktail, hot tub. And zero ghosts... Probably. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #Oregon #TimberlineLodge #TheShining #Day13 #ThruHike

Screenshot from the opening of the film The Shining showing Timberline Lodge at the base of a snow-covered Mount Hood under a clear blue sky. The large multi-story stone and wood lodge sits below the mountain with a parking lot full of cars in front.

Day 5. Last fully dry day. Didn't know it at the time - just a warm tent, a calm lake, and the quiet before everything changed. Six days later, I'm still drying out. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #PCTNOBO #Day5 #LastDryDay #Campsite #LakeCamp #Day11 #OregonPCT #Hiking

Twilight campsite on a dark shoreline beside a calm lake. A small tent glows warmly from the inside, its open door facing the water. The sky fades from deep blue to orange along the horizon, reflecting on the still surface. Silhouetted hills and a forested ridgeline stretch across the far shore, with a prominent mountain peak on the right. Day 5 campsite, the last fully dry day of the trip as of day 11.

I went 50 to 100 yards off a portion of the #PacificCrestTrail somewhat South of Lake Tahoe, #California, and found this widespread vista that was not visible from the main trail. A worthy side step for #Stunday.

Day 7. Mt. Jefferson through the mist. Forecast said a storm was coming. I knew it. But standing here, staring at this mountain, I had no idea how scary it would be in person. Day 8. Weather's still shit. Sitting in my tent, listening to rain, trying not to think about what that forecast meant. A little scary in here — but I made it over the ridge. Watching rain drip into my cook pot. Made it over Mt. Jefferson's Park Ridge. Now I wait. Wet forest, misty trees, and the sound of dripping. Zero day well earned. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #PCTNOBO #MtJefferson #ParkRidge #ZeroDay #RainCamp #Day7 #OregonPCT #ThruHike

3 minutes total. 4 days of funk washed away. Cold, clean, and smelling human again. The view back was worth every shiver. Playing with this cinematic filter — making my desperate scrub feel like a movie. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #PCTNOBO #HeadLake #AlpineLake #Day8 #OregonPCT #ThruHike #ColdPlunge

Four days without a shower & wet clothes. I could smell myself. Head Lake — one minute in, one minute to scrub, one minute out. High 50s, cold enough to steal your breath. But desperate times. In I went. #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #PCTNOBO #HeadLake #AlpineLake #Day8 #OregonPCT #ThruHike #ColdPlunge
