@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialYou know you're a mosaic artist when you look at your dishwasher and thinkβ¦
βThat's a pretty great color palette.β ππ
Fiestaware may or may not be contributing to my mosaic color inspiration.
Okay. It definitely is.

@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialOkay...this happened. π
I posted my first long-form YouTube video in nine months.
But it isn't really a βI'm back!β video. It's a conversation about what happened, what I learned, and why I don't want to make videos exactly the way I used to. β€οΈ

@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialYou never know what your art might do for someone else.
Maybe it makes them smile.
Maybe it sparks an idea.
Maybe it gives them permission to make their own art.
So stop waiting for it to be perfect.
Make the thing. Share the thing. β€οΈ

@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialMy September Christmas ornament reminder: You do not need to make 14 identical ornaments. π
Pick a substrate. Pick a design. Make one.
Then make another.
Little by little = finished handmade Christmas gifts. π
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialA handmade mosaic on a coffee table may seem like a small detail.
But sometimes it's the handmade details that make a room feel like home. β¨
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialI have a routine when packing an order, but before I start, I always take one last look at the artwork and send a little positive energy along with it. β¨
Is that necessary? Absolutely not. π
Am I going to stop doing it? Also absolutely not.β€οΈ
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialWell, THIS is one way to make an airport more interesting. π
I stumbled across this enormous stained glass + mosaic mural, "Florida Sunset" by Jason Middlebrook, at Tampa International Airport.
Absolute showstopper. π
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialMy favorite mosaic tool isn't actually a mosaic tool.
It's a set of white project trays that helps me organize materials, compare colors, find pieces faster, and keep my workspace safer. Easy win! π
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialI think we can all agree that finishing a creative project should come with a live studio audience.
You place that final piece and:

Could you imagine? π
@julieweilbacher.bsky.socialWe spend so much time waiting for a big enough chunk of time to do the things we love.
But what if 10 minutes is enough to quiet your brain, reconnect to your creativity, and remind you why you love making things.
