Multiply by 11 in your head

For 43×11, add the digits (4+3=7) and slot it between them: 473. If the sum is 10 or more, carry the 1 — 87×11 = 957.

Work from what you know. row 4, brick 1: 7 - 3 = 4; row 4, brick 3: 4 - 3 = 1; row 3, brick 3: 1 + 8 = 9, and so on.
