@ruthannereid.bsky.socialIt’s not an easy fix because it wasn’t an easy fall.
Creative, you didn’t get blocked overnight. You won’t get unblocked overnight.
But it IS worth that journey.

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialCreative, the things you repeat to yourself do not have the power to come true.

What are you telling yourself today?

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialTo quote an excellent meme I just found: you gotta keep weirding people out until you accidentally weird one in.

@ruthannereid.bsky.social“You will not be out-talented. You will be out-worked.” —Jimmy Carr

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialMoney and fame are not the point.
Creative, the point is breaking out of block (writer’s or otherwise) and forming the habit of DAILY creation.
There are only two rules.

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialThe act of creation is incredibly messy.
Looking at polished pieces, we tend to forget that.
Creative, embrace the mess that is creation.

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialCreative, we need to divest ourselves of the idea that being emotionally fraught is the same as being prepared or protected.
It is not. The anxiety is not helping you.

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialCreative, we learn artistic “rules” so that when we do break them, we do it with intent, intelligence, and without muddling the message.

@ruthannereid.bsky.socialCreative, who determines if you’re an artist?
Whose permission is needed for you to claim that title?
I’ve got GREAT news. It’s you.
