🪲Dog-day cicada earrings🪲

-Dog-day cicadas are named after the hot days of summer when the Dog Star Sirius rises at dawn with the sun.

-It was once thought that Sirius and the sun united to create the hottest days of the summer.

Here are a couple of shrooms from our latest batch. Sometimes, though rarely, the grain on sycamore’s too good not to show.

Wee yellow hazel mushroom we coppiced a while ago. When cut back, even down to bare ground, hazel regrows. Folk belief says it bestows wisdom, prophecy, & poetic inspiration.

Spent the evening with the #microscope, got some nice shots of #VenusFlytrap digestive glands and trigger hairs. The red pigment on their leaf starts in the digestive glands and spreads outward. The glands are circular blobs.

No sé qué nombre le darán a este tipo de cuarzo con tonalidades verdes, ni sé específicamente que minerales le dan ese color... Clorita quizá? Pero es hermoso 💚

An introductory goblin introducing himself for the #gobtober drawing event created by the excellent oddartworks.

Might not be able to do a full month of these but I’ll chip in when I can. Always happy to draw a goblin 🙂.

Shoutout to Teacup, one of my pet jumping spiders. He liked to pose dramatically against the reflective sides of his habitat after I cleaned it, and bless him for it. Was going to crop these square, realized they might make a nice #cellPhoneWallpaper.

Just doodling some characters, I like making fantasy creatures with elements of animals mixed in. Though some are just complete abominations and I love those too! 😂

This quirky little pendant shows a snail making its slow way from one side to the other, leaving a shiny, slimy trail in its wake.

My inner eighties child likes this color combo.

Sycamore shroom, acrylics, inks, iridescent powders.

New friend arrived! What should I name them? They will be my little helper for my shop...so maybe Noc? Or Mushi could be cute. Maybe something like Momo, for the peachy tones. I am open yo suggestions so comment below.

Adivinen? También es cuarzo! (O cuarzita).
