Familiarize Yourself is modern day, but given that most of our main cast is several centuries old, they tend to prefer older tech. And sometimes they do things like figure out a spell to make the scrying glass connect to the internet to play online chess.

Setting is historical fantansy. I haven't nailed down exactly what the tech equivalent would be. Sometime around late Middle Ages or early Renaissance, I think. But the tech doesn't come up much, so i haven't had to get specific with it.
