“You’re going to bring back what was once mine, you miserable beast!”

Felt like drawing my Viking unicorn with my fae character Lorelai for fun. They really don’t like each other.

Sometimes when I have a nice slice of wood, I paint things on it. I slapped the one on the left out in a few hours. The other was a gift to the hubs, a reminder of our visit to Avebury-she’s the Wishing Tree.

On my recent trip to Sanday, one of Orkney’s northern isles, I spotted these adorable, grumpy, squelchy, squishy faeries! I just knew I had to sketch a Mossy Saltmarsh Imp - this one squinted at me, gurgled, then vanished along with his friends 💚

This is the story of an absolutely magical experience that I had walking in the forest. Has nature ever surprised you in a similar way?

Meet the Ben-Varrey, mermaid of the Isle of Man. She's different from the deadly mermaids we usually hear about.
But don’t get too comfortable.
