Izik (one of my early OCs) was tricked by a fey creature as a young teen, which resulted in his entire village being wiped out. He has carried that blame with him into adulthood, vowing to atone for his mistake for the rest of his life.

She sighed and nodded, ashamed, “Zardoz certainly did.”

Ythendria pushed past Noll who’d stopped just inside the doorway as the door was shut behind her, then past Arun in front of him, and then stopped like the others had as she finally saw what had caused them to pause.
