To top off the away trip, we were delayed on the train by 2 hours on the way back to Geneva which would have meant that we would have missed our flight.

With some extraordinary luck, the flight has also been delayed, meaning we’ve got a route home! 😮‍💨

Looking at what we have now, it’s clear we need a smart pacey CCB & another CM with similar traits. Sage now to needs follow the same tactics against Leeds, not play Richard’s/Diasai together again. In fact, I’d not play either if I’m being extra ruthless. We’re clearly a very good team #cpfc

Well that was 'interesting' away fan experience at Olympic Lyon is very meh! The only thing worse than a John Textor Derby is losing the John Textor Derby! Ref was shite and so were we in the first half. #cpfc

I'd be inclined to bring in an experienced CB on loan in January. Someone like Scott Dann or GaryCahill. Someone who can not only play but coach and give valuable experience to our young back line. #cpfc

I do feel like we could be excellent under Sage. But he needs to find a better balance between attack & defence. I get the argument that the defence isn’t good enough, & that’s not on him - but ultimately he needs to find a way of playing that protects that defence more rather than exposing it #cpfc

Some might say that was our karma. A few things went against us (such as a truly awful performance from the referee), but you can’t let a bang average team like Lyon get a two-goal lead against you twice. You’ve got to be better than that. 🤷‍♂️
