@flipboard.flipboard.social.ap.brid.gyAt the beginning of this year, @kevin, @caseynewton and @pj launched a fediverse instance, The Forkiverse. Now, they're shutting it down. Here's PJ's conversation with @mike for #DotSocial about the experiment.

@evan.cosocial.ca.ap.brid.gy@evanprodromou @jdlh I'm glad to say that the `webfinger` and `activitypub-webfinger` NodeJS libraries now support globally inclusive handles.

@micronicle.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gyI've been really struggling to maintain a happy #social life, not just real-world but the virtual one too. I loath the mainstream #socialmedia platforms full of doom-for-likes-merchants. I've really got to play more with the federated #activitypub system, it seems somehow more sane? I just […]
@ccamara.bonfire.cim.warwick.ac.uk.ap.brid.gyVery excited to officially kickstart our @[email protected] server at Warwick and to be able to codesign it with fellow researchers!
@hamishcampbell.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy#ActivityPub is built as open standards, federation and trust.
We already have a working example of the kind of left/open infrastructure we need.
So maybe the answer is simple:
Don't overcomplicate what already works. Build on it.

@evan.cosocial.ca.ap.brid.gyOK, who are the experts on #DistributedSystems on the #Fediverse? There is a new #FEP for implementing a scalar #LogicalClock in #ActivityPub, #FEP4f18.
I'm especially interested in mitigations for Byzantine faults in the system; right now, it's kind of hand-wavy based on value and trust […]

@evan.cosocial.ca.ap.brid.gyAfter some discussion, I added a #FEP for a scalar #LogicalClock for the #ActivityPub network.
I'm excited to try this out; I think it can have some interesting uses.

@dusoft.fosstodon.org.ap.brid.gySo this preview not available thing is isolated to @fosstodon (when checking via mastodon.social I see previews fine). There has not been any response, so I must conclude they now block multimedia content by the automated Fediverse accounts.

@evan.cosocial.ca.ap.brid.gy@dansup @hongminhee I made a PR that I think captures all the errors you two reported.

I thought I'd be able to slip it into the original PR, but @FenTiger landed the original really quickly. 🙏🏼
