As much as it was a fine story, Reed’s conflict felt a bit contrived as I’m certain he’s helped Doom and other villains before. And Sue shuts the conflict down due to the imminent disaster. #xspoilers

Reed points out that there are 1.6 million people in Philadelphia (go birds!) and Sue mentions that if that’s the case, why were they arguing about Magneto. Why indeed?

DNX was fine. Like Age of Revelation, so far it feels like an X-Men story arc instead of an event. I didn’t care for the giant chin on the regular cover so I took a punt on a blind bag. Here’s a shiny cover of a war criminal. #xspoilers

It’s Hank McCoy aka The Beast aka The Chairman. His shorts are a bit tattered and black, blending in with the background and providing a good contrast to his white fur, long hair which is in a style I had as a teenager and a pair of glasses.

The demon possessing the girl impersonates Cody Robbins, the first person Rogue ever hurt with her powers. Remy quickly offers comfort, but Rogue reminds him that she spoke to Cody before he died and they had closure, so she isn't buying the act. The demon drops the act and just starts mocking her.

Logan offers the barn to Howler if he's too scared to go in the house, which he accepts. As they walk off, Pietro wonders if Howler is beyond help, which Monet rebukes him for. From the window, Becca asks Ember to watch over Howler. Howler apologizes for embarrassing people, and Logan says he didn't. Alice brings blankets and pillows and sets up a bed for Howler in the barn, telling him he can be wherever he feels safe and that he can come to them when he wants to.

The rest of the adults aren't quite sure what to do with Howler as he cries in terror of whatever had been done to him before he came here, and Logan offers to take the lead. Logan appeals to Howler on the basis of their animal-adjacent natures, and when Howler cries that he's using too many words and the world is scary, Logan simplifies it down as much as he can.

Rogue thinks of how her aunt Carrie would force her to go to church and told her she was going to hell, as she confronts Repent on the girl in his house chained to a table. Repent meets her anger calmly and explains that the girl is possessed and he's trying to help her. The girl cries out for help, and Rogue instinctively tries to go to her, but Repent says it's just the demon talking. Repent and the girl argue for Rogue's trust until she yells for them both to stop
