One of my favourite places on Dartmoor is Wistman's Wood - a boulder-strewn hillside, densely-packed with stunted oaks, mosses, lichens, and ferns; a small oasis of residual temperate rainforest in the barren expanse of the Moor.

A dense thicket of dwarf oak trees sits amongst boulders in dappled sunlight. Most surfaces are covered in moss, lichen or fern. The whole scene is very green.
