#SomethingEveryday #MantaRay @sonnetsmith.bsky.social

I love mantas
they would never have killed
Steve Irwin

A manta Ray always smiles
Swimming many many miles
The underwater world compiles
It's journey and its sense of style.

#silly #SomethingEveryday

gliding through water
a beautiful #mantaray
majestic silence

#SomethingEveryday #poetry #writing #writingcommunity

The smell and taste
of sharp #ozone
the moment before
the lightning strikes
get out of the way
if you value your life
or you'll see it
flash in front of your eyes

Cheeky smile of the
Manta ray, gentle giant
Winging it at sea.

#SomethingEveryday #Ozone @sonnetsmith.bsky.social

when scientists were still in the friend zone
we believed them to save the ozone

if 1987 was 2027
would Trump ever sign
something called a Montreal accord

or would he call it a hoax
and douse his orange head in Aqua Net

A bird flying high in the ozone layer
had and oxygen mask prepared
but for got it was cold
even though they were bold
now they look like a chocolate eclaire

#nonsense #limerick #somethingeveryday #ozone

Fixing the ozone
Layer, only to watch the
World boil, all for oil.

no slick forgiveness
u right
that girl a hold somebody
young already
back outside

I remember
my favorite teacher
her bright jewelry
her colourful caftans
her beautiful #afro

her musical laugh
her dark shining eyes
her enchanting alto
her graceful hands
her life well lived

So donuts always bring back memories of when I was a kid and my mom managed a donut shop. She had to go in at 3am and the owner let her put a mattress in the office for us to sleep until we had to go to school.
