Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Brown, birds with that colour in their plumage.
The Alt theme is #Blue, any bird with … oh, go on, work it out yourself.

#ECK #photography #birdphotography #birds #Robin #ForJanet #NatureTherapy

Two Blue Tits and a perplexed Sparrow, seem to cover both themes.

Young Robin getting his new red outfit and swanky brown topcoat. Should be spiffy by Christmas card time.

Great Tit and Blue Tit on black metal arch giving me a "Look". Green blurry Bokeh type background. There's posh.

Fall color? No! False color.

Full spectrum modified sensor.

All of the trees were green when the photo was snapped.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay alt theme is #Blue, any bird with blue in its plumage. This Belted Kingfisher I met yesterday beautifully shows off his blue feathers, yet it's actually the female who wears the rusty 'belt' that gives the species its name. 🤎💙

It’s a gorgeous #BlueSkyMonday here in Seattle. Perfect weather for the IWC Pilot Chronograph

#Abstract is the theme. Take this image somewhere it no longer reads as what it was. It can look like something else entirely. Tell us where you started and stopped and why. Cross post to #abstractia if your edit matches their #gothic theme.

Take it somewhere it no longer reads as what it was. Abstract doesn’t mean it has to look like nothing. It can look like something else entirely: a map, a texture, a weather system, a fabric. It just can’t read as the original subject anymore.

THE TEST
Show it to someone who hasn’t seen the original. If they can’t say it’s a building and a plaza, you’re there.

WAYS IN
These are doors, not rules. Use one, mix several, or ignore them.

Crop to a fragment until scale is unreadable
Warp, mirror, rotate, or stretch it
Layer or repeat it
Strip it to tone, or limit it to a few colors
Remove the horizon, the edges, anything that says what it was
Push it until the detail turns into pattern

Sheena is fretting but let's just ignore definitions and get on with posting pictures we like. Translucently. Transparently. Obscurely. Doesn't matter.
