The Commission and ECB want digital euro legislation completed by end-2026. A 12-month pilot is planned from the second half of 2027 with 36 payment providers. The beta euro will not have legal tender status. Possible issuance in 2029 still requires a separate ECB decision. #DigitalEuro #ECB
