There was – maybe, if Vaggi really strained to listen – a nigh-imperceptible creak from the corridor outside, and Charlie growled at it, deep and thrumming; it reverberated in Vaggi’s chest unmistakably. She definitely heard that.

"Easy, hon, easy," she soothed, reaching up to stroke her wife's chin. She had to reach further than she’d usually have to, and instead of porcelain-smooth skin her fingers met scales.

Because Charlie was in heat, and that meant she spent a whole week gone into her demon form, and sometimes it meant she went into a super demon form and became a big dragon-serpent-monster; black-scaled and shot through with lava-red veins; a hybrid of the reptilian, the lionesque, the goatish and the avian, who uttered growls and purrs and other such noises instead of words, and hoarded pillows and snacks and wives in a big nest that she'd coil up in for the whole week, instead of gold and jewels in a cave.

One would have expected heat this intense to just be libidinous, all about sex and mating – even Vaggi had expected that, maybe even feared that, when Charlie had told her that she went through these cycles after that first unexpected seclusion back when Vaggi had only known her for a few weeks. But it wasn't. Possessiveness, protectiveness – sure, Charlie definitely had those qualities right now. But she was still respectful and gentle, she always waited for consent, and a lot of the time it was just stealing Vaggi away to their room for endless cuddles and no-clothes time.

For a full blooded demon twice her size, Charlie could be so gentle in her heat.

Charlie chuffed proudly at the brief distension appearing on the outside of Vaggi’s baby bump, and bent down to nuzzled – the chuff turning into chuckles as she felt the kicks too.

"Whose side of the family did that strength come from, I wonder?" Charlie gestured at her with her snout, and Vaggi chuckled. "You know what I mean, hon, Can I do that?" She waved a hand at Charlie in all her demon-ness. "I don't think so."

Still Charlie fluttered her eyes at her in an enamoured way. Vaggi imagined if she could speak she’d be gushing about how strong Vaggi is, both for her fighting and bodyguarding skills and for making two babies inside her body, like she already had many times since they held that positive pregnancy test in their hands.

“Oh, you flatterer.”

Charlie cooed in reply, and began to nuzzle the fallen angel’s wings. It was a nice feeling, scaly skin against smooth and fluffed-up feathers.

“Love you too.” Vaggi kissed Charlie on the snout. It was much longer than she was used too – less like a puppy or a hognose snake, more like a bloodhound or a large monitor lizard. But she loved it all the same.

She settled back into resting; stroking Charlie’s side with one hand, holding her belly with the other. Their future daughters, however, were adamant on squirming and kicking inside her; not letting up.

She reached her hand underneath her baby bump, and testingly, gingerly touched her pussy. Immediately she lifted her hand with a hiss. Nope, her crotch was still too sensitive, just that little touch caused shooting pain through it.

Charlie whined. It sounded like she understood, but she was also lamenting the fact. She seemed anxious for her own heat to end now.
