sunrise

a heron lifts through silver light

slow wings opening the morning

in the sound of water flowing

there is a blooming #calm

that reaches the sky

there is a sad storm
swirling amid my soul
that bleeds a wary rain
of fear & uncertainty,
but your arms,
your embracing arms,
like an pure enigma
wrapped within starscape skies,
is the beautiful quiet calm
that restores light, love, & hope
into my hesitant heart.

The sea is so #calm. That's normal, right? I stand by the shore, looking out. The water lays flat like a mirror lacquered with oil. For a while I watch a bird circle, reflected upside down as it looks for beach worms. Then I dip my toe into the black. It's warm down here. And not calm at all

Somewhere north of nowhere, I was about to turn left & keep driving until the confusion settled in

The fog said otherwise

The river said nothing, it kept on moving. Doing the only thing it knew how.

I sat, I watched, I took a breath. I found the #calm I needed for the moment & moved on.

I dreamed I was in a room whose walls were lined with mirrors.

Each mirror showed a different version of me.

I saw happy me, sad me, furious me and #calm me. There were many, many more.

I knew I would have to eventually choose one to take into the day.
