Another Ork for the collection. I quite like the vibrant base this time. I’ve been trying a different color combo and now I might have to go back and repaint all the the other Ork bases.

I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures. I lost but I feel it was a good showing. Especially for my first ever RTT. Game 1 was priority v priority. Game 2 was priority v Disruption. Game 3 was priority v take and hold. #orks #warhammer40k

Tinkaton and Gorkaton together at last 🥹

#tinkaton #pokemon #orks #warhammer #art #artsky

Tinkaton explaining how the nearby Gorkaton (Or possibly Morkaton) behind her searching for something is not too different to herself. The nearby Morkaton (or possibly Gorkaton) loudly asking where the shootas (ork guns) and gubbins (bits and pieces) are, Tinkaton grows embarrassed hearing how this green fungus tinkaton-lookalike's sounds nothing like her.

Decent progress on this guy today. I still need to paint a lot of little things on him.

These models were released 26 years apart, but I feel like they are similar enough that they can still hang together and not look too strange.

More thoughts in the alt text.

2000 is definitely not when I painted the old orc. I was starting high school that year and while I had seen Warhammer a year before in a visit to France, it hadn't made its way to Romania yet. I was also feeling pretty mature about myself and not interested in toys at all. Here are a few thoughts on new vs old: Obviously, the tooling is much better now. The moldline and undercuts are much subtler on the modern sculpts. The new one had many more details which I just removed. I enlarged the eyes on the old one so I could paint them easier. Body type: I do prefer the gorilla anatomy of the old model, with its longer arms and shorter feet. They are mushroom creatures so it feels correct when they have stranger anatomy. Heads: I might prefer the new heads. Orcs released in the last few years have looked really vicious and feral, but these new ones are a bit goofy again, which is a big plus for me and the first thing that made me interested in them. Hands: The hands are just a bit smaller to the point they are almost interchangeable, depending on your OCD. Weapons: I like that they've made the weapons smaller. I think it makes the orcs seem larger in comparison. My ideal old world orc for when GW does them? Go back to the gorilla anatomy, but most importantly make the faces goofy! Just finished up the first Ork I've ever painted. Super fun paint. I've been away for a long time and it's been nice to get back to the hobby.
