The ending feels a bit sudden tho, I feel like her voice is suddenly turning down. And it just stopped out of nowhere. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty when the bass came in... im sorry but i was so lost. it does not compliment the high pitch voice...
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty it was very much like story telling, almost like how we make music today, the lyrics tells a story plot
The adding of the modern music and the fading of traditional “GuZheng” is so interesting. The speed start accelerating and express the emotion very well. It’s not plain but with up and down. The flowing of emotion is very natural. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty this isn't like any other poem i've listened to, there is not distinct form with stanzas or lines. i dont see figurative language, but for all i know maybe someone who speaks this dialect of Chinese could have recognized a metaphor I didn't catch
I love the music shift so much, it’s so smooth and match the topic so well. Especially the one to telephone. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty who was Yingelishi made for? who was meant to hear this and understand completely what was going on, if i can't even grasps onto everything being said
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty some parts of the audio were almost comforting in how harmonic it became, but other parts, i felt in an awkward position to listen to such a high pitch without music in the background.
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty the only reason i am able to pick up on certain words is because i have the english language translation in front of me, so am i actually hearing it or forcing myself to distinct that word
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty im wondering what it means to be fluent, when its spoken in Yingelishi, i understand the english words but hear the chinese accent... who's to say they are or aren't pronounciating it right?
#hwa4 #yingelishiparty i was not expecting to properly hear "open your eyes" as an english translation
This part I can sense the rhythm changed a little, I sensed the adding of traditional Chinese opera. It seems like the author is using the culture elements well. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
The music of section “traveling” in the beginning looking for seat sounds like flying in the sky. It matches the topic so well. The pause and rhythm is just on time. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
You can feel the emotional shift of the music from topic to topic I think it’s very creative and smart. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
I notice that just listening to the music and ignore the meaning, words and translations. It appeared to be a completely different feeling from what you understand it would be. Kinda like the Buddhist Mantra in the reading. Only focus on listening creates something different. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
Ngl, the singing actually made understanding the English even harder because of the pausing in words. If it’s normally speaking I assume most people can understand the meaning. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
Memory plays a significant role here. It carry’s the whole childhood of a cultural community. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
The Chinese putting together and the translation is literally as weird as possible. I don’t even understand one of the Chinese characters. Are people really recognizing the English pronunciation that she sing? #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
The background music is ”Mo Li Hua (What a lovely jasmine flower)” it’s is such a childhood and traditionally famous song that no matter what lyrics it’s in. Chinese can easily recognize it, even with completely different lyrics and weird meaning. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
