A really good night in St Mellion with 62 species noted. Although no scarcer migrants were captured I did end my 43 year long wait to catch a Golden Twin-spot (C. chalcites) in the UK. #teammoth

Monday’s moth trap: 47 moths of 20 species with 1 NFY, the Plumed Fan-foot; not common in my area. 7 Black Rustics & 11 Lunar Underwings were the big hitters of the night #teammoth

Along with a couple of Barred Sallows came this NFG #499 Sallow.

One I’ve only ever seen at Lakenheath before. It’s new for the tetrad. 🔲

Really wanted to trap last night, but we looked to get rain, so I popped the trap under an undercroft. I think it’s not as good as out in the open, but hey ho.

In the end, the rain missed us, and the Moths didn’t.

#498 Feathered Thorn was on the wall behind the trap.

This morning's 163/28 took me past 5000 entries on 2026 Devon spreadsheet. Amazed I've managed to stick at the admin...

Red-line Quaker NFG, Feathered Thorn NFY; 18 Barred Sallow a surprising count. This pinky-pink Vestal the smartest of 4. Love it. 😍

Axminster VC3.

With heavy rain in mid Cheshire early in the evening and more forecast for the early hours I nearly didn't put the trap out. Glad I did, my first November Moth along with five Black Rustic, a Merveille du Jour, a Turnip & a couple of Shuttle-shaped Darts. #teammoth #mothsmatter
