The Green Thorn Warband, my adventuring party within the book series, is here because someone hired them to deal with it or found it while searching for something else.
Either Roderick or Dmahdi are the most interested. Roderick thinks clues, Dmahdi just wants to see the inside

Assuming there was a possession, I'd probably write it as the possessed person having felt intensely distracted and totally oblivious to their surroundings but inexplicably tired (due to whatever the ghost made their body do).

Weslea would be the one to notice, unless he's the one acting strangely. If he is, Jake and Lily are the ones to notice, as the younger siblings he was the primary caretaker of most of their lives.
There's probably not a plan to 🧵

Given the locale of my story is New York City, it's likelier to be either a haunted skyscraper or a haunted penthouse that was just fucking downright palatial in scale.
Alternatively, it's possible they went upstate a bit to see 🧵

I think that's probably Weslea, because as an Omega, he has a more insightful nature, and is probably a little more perceptive.
That said, I don't know if ghosts are real or not in the Parallel Reality he's in. That's unaddressed.

Jake and Lily, Weslea's twin younger siblings, would absolutely insist on going inside. They don't believe in ghosts and so they would want to see what condition the interior of the house is in.

StS: Seff understands the lucid dead more than she ever wanted to. She does not want to talk about it.
Prophecies: Alakshi is eager to share the perspective she's gained on people she hadn't understood before (dead ones). Her friends listen intently.
Thank you for hosting! That was fun!
Lots of people read "Good Boys Don't Howl" but few have "Life Before Blood"
It's free! Dracula emotionally manipulates a traumatized old gay Renfield (with a few spicy scenes).
This... Isn't the best pitch is it? 😅

Prophecies: Alakshi begs in a raspy voice: "Please. Unfinished business. Please. One more punch in my card and I'll finally get a free frozen yogurt. Please ..."
Zedenko and Gallara sigh and get the final cone. Alakshi, freed, eats it. Jorang approves.

StS: Instead of staying quiet, Seff starts clacking her teeth together, staring at nothing with unblinking eyes. Then she starts trying to claw them from her own head.
Drohim immediately performs an exorcism, aided by Seff's own immense force of will.

Prophecies: Ghosts approach all invaders in white sheets, along with clowns and hobos, to cheerfully demand candy.

StS: The house seems to wither from within. The light weakens as if the shadows feed on it. Inside, you find the decrepit corpses of the house's family, anxiously huddled together and feeding on the town's most recent missing person.
Q5:
Tack takes out another bottle of rum and hands it to Uno, who sits on the beach by the jolly boat at the cottage burns.
"What did you see?" Bo'sun asks. Uno takes another swig.
"The owner. He dug down. Found a patch of The Blight." Uno shuddered.

In Prophecies, Gallara can feel the presence of magic and Alakshi actually sees it in the form of iridescent threads, so they'd notice right away.
Drohim from StS is deeply spiritual and wields a god's power in its name, so he'd be on top of things, too.
Q4: Bo'sun notices Uno staring at the trap door, moving toward it slowly.
One Uno starts hacking at the padlock Quill tries to use a paper seal on here, but it doesn't work.
This isn't a ghost. It's The Blight. The vines curl up and crack the lock.

Zedenko from Prophecies lives under a truly awful curse, and he's been chasing clues from abandoned crypt to desecrated castle to underground labyrinth for fifteen years in hopes of breaking it. A haunted house would only make sense to be next.
