The Last Puddle
Scrap-water,
leftover from the sky’s stormy tantrum.
Kick it, it slaps back,
a thin machine cough.
A van rolls past,
the whole world judders
inside that thumbprint of wet.
Ten minutes,
it’ll vanish
like a rumour
too forgettable
to spread.
