"Queens of the air,—
Aithra, lole,
Eos or Auge,
Taking new beauty
From the sun’s evening brightness.
Gyring in light
As nymphs play in waters—
Aithra, lole,
Eos or Auge!"
Padraic Colum (1927)

what really grinds my gears: when #pigeons can see magnetic fields can they see power lines and subwoofers and stuff with that same receptors?

and if yes, if they ride a subway, does that mean they can see where it goes from above?

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #WingsOpenNotFlying, birds with their wings open when not flying.
The Alt theme is #Blue, any bird with Blue in its plumage.

Here’s a Wood Pigeon trying to get my attention to tell me that the feeder is empty.
