what is now #senryu. The #hiraku could be about ANYTHING and ANYONE. Thats why one of the old talkingpoints about #senryu not having kireji or cuts or even using 'kigo-season words/keywords' isn't true. In #hiraku, ALL of that occurred. But also, human doings did kind of feature prominently...

...abandoned the greater essence of Haikai as a whole; thus become something different. something slightly anemic. Then he began speaking of the true history of this standalone ku known as #senryu; being rooted in the non-special, verses of Renga (group poems) the #hiraku.

Eventually I'm thinking of writing an article on #senryu in the spirit of Maeda JAKURO'S poetic theory of #senryu which doesn't position senryu's beginnings in the verse-capping game, Maekuzuke, but in the #hiraku verses of Haikai no Renga collaborative poetry the way #haiku is rooted in #hokku.

I don't think that will ever happen. My poetic philosophy at this present time is that I'm writing #hiraku under the title of #senryu; but those verses were 'little cups' that could include anything. Kireji or nature could be present in one. Or humans cld take center stage. This is where i am.

I think Jakuro Maeda might see it differently. Juxtapositions/Kireji/Kigo etc are the domain of the genre of Haikai as it appeared in Renga. The #hiraku (the actual birthplace of #senryu) were every verse in renga that didn't have a specific function. Those verses held kireji/juxta/nature/and people
