The robin is facing the camera but with her head tilted right, her thin dark beak turned upwards, and her eye focused skyward. Her dark claws grip the branch in a relaxed way. She has a pale breast streaked with grey, a bright orange bib and face, and mid-tone grey plumage on her crown, the back of her head and on her feathers. Just home from the pub where my son and I raised a glass in memory of my lovely wife and I was taken aback by the tidal wave of love on Bluesky #ForJanet. However, I should make it clear for newcomers that Roberto #Robin vanished six weeks after my wife died. His spirit lives on, as does hers. ❤️

One of the last photographs I took of Roberto in February as he sang his heart out high up on a bush, growing by the red brick wall of our small terrace house. Soon after he vanished.
