42 years ago today, October 6, 1984, Barbara Mandrell debuted at #73 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Crossword Puzzle”. It went on to peak at #11 and spent a total of 20 weeks on the chart.

It’s been a fun hobby to collect 45 RPM singles over the years. I went to hang out with a friend who was on the air at 1080 AM KTNX back in 1984, and he played this song by Sawyer Brown. To this day, it’s one of a few songs he played that evening that stirs up memories of me wanting to be on the radio announcing songs too.
