haha me too. It presented a couple facts very confidently that I thought were wrong, and each time when I asked about it, it became profusely apologetic and said it should not have acted so confident. Like it was admitting to bluffing and wanted my forgiveness. Strange.

In retrospect, it seems like the biggest miss of #2001ASpaceOdyssey is in believing that spaceships would have those large, roomy interiors. I believe they pack shuttles quite full of things they may need, just in case. #TCMParty

As I recall, in the novel HAL becomes neurotic due to his inability to reconcile keeping the mission's ultimate purpose secret and assisting the crew to the fullest. Him deciding, on his own, how to deal with this is a little too on the nose this week.
