Finished a dice tray I've been making on-and-off for a couple of years. Built it on the larger side for wargaming. The dust lid is a cool piece of cherry wood cut by an arborist friend.

Right. Tiny daughter is sick today, so I'm home. Stuck her in front of the tv for an hour and I'm finally glueing up my toolchest carcase.

I am really annoyed that the adhesive on the back of this cork immediately (ok, like 13 hours later) pulled off of the plywood. I will probably apply epoxy to fix it but ugh I kinda hate epoxy? #woodworking #glueworking #gluenotworking
made the second clamp. Much better than the first, but still has a lot of room for improvement. I could make another one just like this and be ok with it, but correctly locating the roll pins in the lower jaw is the one big improvable bit left. #woodworking
In my ongoing quest to understand why I like boxes with flamboyant, oversized lids I have made the most flamboyant and oversized box lid in my personal history. Could be more flamboyant. Could be more oversized. But I love it anyway. Elm, tung oil, beeswax.
Made a shelf for the wife, and while it's a little scuffed on it's own, I think it's a real set piece when hung up! 🥰💝

Running these walnut boards through the router to cut a dado for the Milwaukee blackout map to slide into during glue-up! 🪵 I’m loving how this frame is coming together and can’t wait to see it all assembled!

Case for sewing needles. African Blackwood. Most of the wood split, but I could recover juuust enough for this project.

I tried making a simple jig set up I saw on YouTube to help make fast box comb joints, they are a bit loss then I would like but the principle works to make simple things at least. How one makes them tighter tolerance will be the trick I think the gap is a hair too lose #woodworking

It occurs that I haven’t touted this resource lately: The York Archaeological Trust. They have published many of their out-of-print fascicules online. An amazing resource for historical Anglo-Scandinavian material culture.
These two are my favorites, the ones I actually use. The one on the left is after an early York find from the York Archaeological Trust, on the right is after a ceramic example in the London Museum collection. Both of American Sycamore. #woodworking #woodturning
A few years ago a peach tree in my back yard couldn't fight off fungus infections any more, so I regretfully cut it down (years of delicious peaches). Of course I had to save some of the wood. This bowl is from a single slice of the tree and epoxy resin with pigment.

More elm spurtles. Since I'm thinking about this utensil I decided to try making a different style. I like these better than the last set. Especially the one on the right.
Tomorrow I hope to make another of these without the wonk. If the revised plan works well I’ll make a few more. I don’t really know how to make a good spiral cam but I know how to make a spiral so maybe I can figure it out from there. #woodworking
See, better legs! Looks less clunky.
Onto the next project
The bar in the clamps was bowed
I put it over boiling water then clamped it to a ruler sword to straighten it.
Should have taken pictures of that process....oh well
Got it for 40usd
